I'll add my two thoughts. I started watching F1 in 1999.

1. the FIA has F1 confused with endurance racing. F1 is a sprint race. The regulations should reflect that.

2. F1 should be an automotive freak show. When I watch an F1 race, I want to see cars (and drivetrains) doing things that defy all logic and reason. Hybrid V6s just don't invoke that at all.
