It's neither here nor there to me but you see it a lot and it's all based on your perspective. The only reason why I bought a BMW was because of the M3 pedigree as far as actual driving performance not because of it's reputation in the eyes of enthusiasts, fanboys, or people who see it as a status symbol.

I'm not assuming anything, dude spends the first half of his article explaining that as if it's some sort of revelation that everybody doesn't already understand. The real assumption here is that most of the owners of these cars are oblivious to what they have in their possession. Is there any kind of data to back that up? Or is that just another sample of ignorant internet prejudice?
