I agree it is somewhat "crazy" that is how the market has evolved, but - and I'm sure you didn't mean it this way - its not crazy that BMW has responded to the shift and designed their product lineup to succeed in said market.

This is somewhat true, but it's also the case that Audi has no "Q6" in their portfolio whereas BMW has the X6.
In fact, I believe the addition of X8 and iX (iNext) will give BMW the most SUV-loaded lineup in the premium market, and perhaps even the entire industry.
