Hmm not sure what you saw but the Halo edition is actually an olive/orange colored console for $400:

It comes with HDMI and the exclusive Halo colors (which I think looks nasty) for the console, controllers, headset etc.
The only black console currently is the Elite, which is $450 and has HDMI capability with a 120GB HD.
The other editions are colored white and they are the Core (no HD) for $280 and the Pro (20GB HD) for $350 but neither have HDMI support.
