Nice choice. With that quality firearm, you can make it your only AR.

The only thing you need to do is get back up iron sights and start shooting. Take an carbine class at your local range to get familiar with it and get the fundamentals of shooting it down.

If you want to and seeing as you went with DD as your first AR, you can likely afford one, a quality Red Dot Sight would be in order.

Aimpoint micro 2moa is a very robust small red dot that fits with the light weight theme of your M4v7. You could also go with the Magpul MBUS sights to keep with the light weight theme.
