It is Peak BMW if that is when you think BMW really stopped making special cars.
What I mean by that is M specific engines found on no other platform, less "bling" than competitors, but more performance, under-styled looks (at least by comparison) And most of all more soul, (analogue Tach, no pipped in exhaust noise, better connected steering).
So if the M2 was basically the last of all that, it really would be here during the last peak BMW happened recently.
I think I imagined a lot of their modern line as still being 10 years away, soon you will be able to see "through" the car via dash screen and forward mounted cameras, like brand new jets.
And while that is cool and all, I kind of like hydraulic steering so my taste in cars, (like taste in music) is going backwards in time. |
