I traded out of a 100% reliable Lexus RX350 into a X5 because I hated the aggressive look of the Lexus/Toyota's now and that stupid looking "I'm going to eat you" grill.
At age 72 I've been thru a dozen Japanese cars and pickup trucks - Toyota, Mazda, Honda, and Lexus and never done much more to them than change the oil and wiper blades, seriously. NEVER had a repair issue requiring a mechanic's attention.
Having said that BMW is in a different league when compared to any of them. Just wish the reliability track record was up there with the Japs engineering.
