I wouldn't call Ultraboost athletic at all. It's too soft, providing undetermined response: you can literally rock
on it. Although in my winter frost boots there's a thinner layer, it felt better. To me, it looks like shit too. (At least they started to paint it: when I bought they claimed a paint would take away all the "magic". Has it?
