Sometimes when my wife does things that her mother does, I just call her "little mommy". She doesn't really care because I have learned something called "timing". If you ever say something to offend people, it's probably because of poor timing.

When you speak of "timing", I presume you mean you wait for the time when she's out of earshot before saying something that would offend?
