I called BMW Genius to log a ticket but haven’t heard back from them. And lo and behold this morning I saw the option for setting my digital key on the app. Unfortunately I’m out of town so will have to try the set up when I return.
I’m not sure if it took a while for the app to recognize the update or if BMW Genius did anything.

Thank you. Now that I talked to the dealer, I vaguely remember them mentioning that form when I picked it up, and they confirmed it today. Sounds like I just need to go get the software update done.
