So it’s normal…. I didn’t pay attention until my son brought it to my attention.

Not saying you are wrong, but what possible bad thing are they thinking would happen when rolling the window down?

Try to reset it.
Push and hold down the window switch, and keep it held down for 5 seconds after the window is all the way down.

I've had it happen with the passenger window a few times, what I find really annoying is that when I press the switch for the driver window only the passenger switch will also engage (almost like they are stuck together) therefore opening both windows, it never happens when I press only the passenger switch and it only happens some times.

Take the car to the dealer, that sounds like a faulty switch.

Strange thing: month ago all of a sudden it did for some days, thought it was updated by air, but after a week it was 'as usual' haha. |

My 440I does this not as often with the switch but does it more when opening windows with the key fob. I just roll it up a bit then back down I thought it was nothing special since it was so random.

I did a forum search and found a few threads about this issue, but no solution. My 2022 Z4 is doing the same thing where the window stops with about 1/4 to 1/2 inch still raised. I can push the button again and it will go down the remaining amount.
I will ask the dealership about it this week. I am quite certain my 2020 Z4 did not have this issue and my X6 doesn't either. Rob |

I had this problem with Porsche, but not with my Z4. Probably have something to do with a faulty mechanism. My Cayman did the same thing.

I took a quick look at the manual and it say that jam protection is for when the window is being closed.
