The clip that holds the charge pipe in place, under the left side of the engine is the most difficult. The two electrical connections are a little fussy to get off. Beyond that, just 3 screws that are pretty easy. Depending on what you are replacing it with, you may have to reuse the gasket, which can be tricky to remove without damaging it. Some charge pipes come with a new gasket. I think there are videos on YouTube that show you the process.
My BMW tuner tells me the plastic charge pipe used on the B48 and B58 are the weakest link on the engine. They can blow out. I was thinking of replacing mine, but I wanted to make sure it would not hurt my warranty. |

I am thinking of a charge pipe, down pipe, Pure 800 turbo and mild tune that adds 4.5 lbs of boost for 93 octane.... when the warranty is up. Everything is a direct replacement for OEM and requires no mods or cracking the ECU. |

I fitted my new charge pipe decided to go for the MTC £200 great quality and an easy fit , the hardest bit was getting the pipe over the turbo and fitting the retaining clip.
