Question guys. I'm about to get a used honda civic with 150k miles as a commuter to work, 34 miles one way. What kind of insurance coverage do you guys put on your "beater" car?

Considering the cost of damage to your car is just a small part of comprehensive insurance. Obviously your car doesn't have a high value so minimal insurance coverage would be needed. However you will still want a healthy limit for covering injury, property, uninsured motorist, etc

I do. My beater car is a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq. I drive 90 miles per day, back and forth to work so owning a 60MPG car makes sense.

Just donated my beater to charity. 1999 Mercedes E320 with 245k miles. It was a solid ride for my oldest when in high school and when home from college. Served us well and still drove smoothly at 70 mph on the highway. Great for an airport car as well. Kids have there own cars now and she needed some work, so it was a good time to let her go to someone who could make better use.

The reason I don't drive the X5M or the 911 Turbo daily is 'coz then there's nothing special for days when you want something special |

My 2002 Ford F250 Supercab 4x4 Longbed 7.3L Turbo Diesel is my beater.
Faded paint work and lots of dents/dings (not by me, it came that way). I can drive/park it anywhere and haul anything in or with it w/o concern for its physical appearance.

Honda Pilot is my beater. I like the space, but I'd rather have a sporty wagon.

99 Camry. Picked it up for $500. Couldn't say no to the price!
About to get a 335i, we shall see if I will have the willpower to not start driving it everyday. |

Very nice. Love those wheels.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

The M is my beater. My other car is a Lotus Exige, but the way it's driven, maybe it's my beater?
