hmmm fair comparison w/ boxster but the porsche doesn't have 6 cylinders anymore. I just hope the Z4 comes in manual though.
Also, for this kind of money I would just get the m240i in 6mt and keep the change. |

At that price, there's ZERO chance I would even be considering the new Z4. Not when a Corvette Grand Sport can be had for cheaper (I paid $65K for mine*) that has more power, better driving dynamics, and is convertible too (targa roof). For point of reference, the Corvette Grand Sport I bought was fully optioned out, with the top of the line trim (3LT) with full leather trim dash, door, etc and alcantara A pillar and roof liner, plus Z07 package which comes with factory aero, carbon ceramic matrix brakes, tuned suspension, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 run flats...etc. Has just about every expensive option checked under the sun. And still came in CHEAPER than the starting price of a new Z4 M40i.

So the attached document is wrong? It specifically says that it does not include the $995, tax, tile, etc.

love all the Porsche price comments; the Boxster S is a great car.....even with the lame 4cyl but when I priced them out it was 47% more than a fully loaded Z4 M40i......not even CLOSE. I considered the BMW a bargain and bought one....loving it.

Engine sound out of the box and all the technology in the car was also helpful. Z4 M40i sounds marvelous even before any mods. It won't stop me from doing some bolt-ons down the road, but in the meantime it sounds sweet. I'm also sort of sick of Porsche presently. I had a 2014 Turbo S which ended up with a ton of bolt-on mods/tunes, and still have the analog 997.2 GT3 RS (2011) that's fun as hell, but requires great roads to really shine (because you can feel every little bump in the road!). I just wanted something that was fun with the top down and enjoyable to drive no matter the condition of the roads (especially since NYC roads can get pretty crappy). |
