good luck with that; BMW's literature shows a .7 sec 0-60 difference which seems to match up with all the C&D and other road tests for stock Z4's.
while you're looking; here's one - ...and that's the weaker Euro M40i.... Last edited by DPelletier; 10-11-2022 at 03:53 PM.. |

because the extra weight and higher center of gravity are counter productive in a sportscar.....particularly one designed to compete with a Porsche Boxster. I had a SLK350 with a retractable hardtop and while it was a nice car, it just didn't have the driving dynamics of the G29....I suspect the top and related weight was one of the reasons why. The switch back to a soft top was one of the reasons I decided to buy the Z4

A coupe is always lighter than its corresponding convertible, has greater torsional rigidity and therefore a better handling. It is no accident that all sports cars are coupes and not convertibles.
http://youwheel.com/home/2016/06/20/...ehensive-list/ The reason the Z4 is only convertible is probably related to the poor sales of the old Z3/4 coupe, people see the Z4 only as a fancy convertible and not as a real sports car. |

It is not a GT3 convertible, it would be less effective than a GT3 on the track because of the lack of a roof (and therefore stiffness). But Porsche did not build the Speedster to run on the track, it is a different car with a different purpose.
Don't forget that the main chassis upgrades in M cars compared to regular versions are about increasing underbody stiffness, so torsion rigidity is not a secondary issue in terms of handling. Quote:
Porsche 718 Boxster 19,000 Nm/deg Porsche 718 Cayman 41,000 Nm/deg This does not mean that a convertible cannot be sporty or fast or pleasant to drive, but obviously with a top they would be (and are) better on a performance level. The Boxster is amazing to drive, but the Cayman is even better. Convertible buyers clearly have different priorities, which is understandable. That said, if you don't want to understand or accept the facts of physics just to defend your purchase, that's not my problem |

I almost changed my order to Skyscraper but I still am partial to white. 2 of my favorite cars were white, I never get tired of it.

I've seen plenty of skyscraper cars in the U.K.
Very classy and easy to maintain colour IMO. Great option on the refresh.
