2023 Z4 M40i False Service Warnings

5/11/23 Drove 57 miles and got service warnings on BMW app that evening. App said starter battery issue needs service asap. Also showed two Brake issues that had a 3/28/23 warning date. Swiped down to refresh and issues disappeared but swiped again and they returned. Refreshed several more times and issues stayed. Unfortunately I did not check in car to see if same results showed up. Made service appt for 5/13/23 7:45a. Then next morning the app had no warnings even after several refreshes. Checked the car itself and no warnings. Drove to a restaurant and no warnings so cancelled the service appt. Will keep monitoring this.

Anyone else see this behavior? Is this a BMW app problem? Wish I had save a screen grab of the issues.

Yeah mine has done that exact error a few times now. I’ve only had the car a few weeks. It’s definitely a little concerning.

That is odd. I picked mine up last Friday and as I was driving home from the dealer I got a warning in the car about “reduced driver assistance” and it mentioned the frontal collision warning and automatic pedestrian braking. It went away on its own after a bit and hasn’t popped up since. Was perfectly clear and sunny that day, so no idea what caused it. Maybe a software bug or something?

Could be a real bug on the camera or radar sensors.

Could have been, but it went away on the same trip after a few minutes, so it’s not like I cleaned anything off. Hoping it was just a one off, so we’ll see.
