Well, if you make enough money or was given enough money or financially lucky enough to just buy F430's on a whim, then more power to you buddy and you're a lucky bastard and many guys will be jealous - myself included. I personally don't think vehicles should be worth more than 20% of total assets - but that's me and as a result, it's not time to buy my Ferrari yet. Maybe for my 40th birthday, I'll consider it... but I still have about 6 years to wait and I'm not sure how many more kids I'll have which could end up chaging my priorities.

IMO, the IS is a solid car by all means -- fit and finish is great -- but for me [atleast], i'm sold on bmw's... The IS-F coming out should be a great sight though |

Honestly, I'm not impressed by the IS-F (or the new M3 for that matter). 100+ more HP and just a slight improvement. I'm more disappointed by the fact that they are charging 15,000 for the difference in 100 hp and handling wheras the IS350 and IS250 is only a 3,000 difference for 100 hp and better brakes. If the IS-F were only 5,000 more than a comparably equipped IS350, then I'd be happy. Oh well. For now, I have my sights set on a GT-R in the near future. If and only if it can hold at least 2 sets of golf clubs. 4 years ago, the best car IMO was the G35 coupe but my clubs didn't fit into the trunk so it was a no go and my kid sister already had the 3 series so I had a 2 year lease on an ES300.

Besides golf, rc helicopters/planes/cars/boats, vacations, reading and discussing cars is a hobby. A late night hobby and makes for good reading I suppose. When I see some guys with over 10,000 posts... now those guys I figure their lives revolve around cars.

i'm an IS350 owner and a member of CL, but some people will always be childish.. every forum has its haters.. just because the IS350 beats the 335i once, people will get all crazy and say things to make themselves feel better...
i'm a car enthusiast and i love all type of cars.. heck, i bought my IS350 when it first came out, but if the 335i coupe came out sooner, i would've picked up the 335i.. however, i have no regrets choosing the IS350..

not to take away from their service, the sales guy was great... he let me rip it anyway I wanted... and I must say, I was impressed... it handles as well as the 335... a lil more tail happy... the interior was great... but I hated the side mirrors... really kills the look of the car however, it's an awesome car... and calling it a "toyota" is just ignorant... that's one thing I don't like about luxury brand owners... they always try to compensate with the price tag....

You can't simply value the 100hp increase and some improved handling characteristics at face value and justify that the $15k difference is only for the forementioned traits. Lexus knows how to make money~ and they will price the top-of-the-line IS at a point that maximizes their profit. Hell, if the IS-F was priced $10K above the IS350, i guarantee you that there will still be a group of people that claim that the markup isn't justifiable. |

My wife drives a IS350.
We looked at both the IS350 and the 335i. For us they were both just 4 door family sedans. We didn't consider either one of these as sports cars. For us they are just 4 family sedans. She was trading in a 2005 M3 for a 4 door due to a baby on the way. Obviously neither the 335 or the IS provided the performance of a SMG M3. She didn't like the 335i. The IS simply offered more for the money. She liked the paddles shifters better, they were similar to the M3 she was used to, up on one side and down on the other. The IS has air conditioned seats, a backup rear camera, a much better NAV/stereo/phone with voice recognition. Reliable, more standard options, and cheaper. She picked up the IS350 for $40K out the door. That was about $10 less than a similarly optioned 335i. In it's price the IS350 is a great buy. I got to trade in the M3 for a Z4M. |

I think the IS350 is a great car. I don't understand the hate with the 'Japcrap' and the 'overpriced Toyota' stuff, its a well made car. I've driven it twice already and I really do like some features that aren't available on our cars.
But when it comes to the dirty work of puting a smile on my face through a freeway onramp, there is no question. |

I never really liked the M3. It was a heavy car that handled just ok. The Z4M replaced both my Z3M coupe and the M3. The z4m beats the E46 M3 in every performance category. |

i can't read through that shit thread....... wayy too much ignorance and false statements....
then again, i usually get the same feeling lurking around here and any car forum for that matter... people are biased in general about everything... that's why driving a car like a z06 would be intruiging.... knowing you could wreck any given car, put all these petty *** debates about who is faster to rest with that LS7... might be the best feeling you could have. no better feeling than proving other people wrong... then rubbing it in. |
