I am retired, but my M40i is still my "daily driver". I always find excuses to use it for any and all errands. Today, I made a run to the post office. Yesterday, I went to the liquor store to get my wife some ginger beer (an absolutely atrocious thing to do to beer). Tomorrow, I will take it to Home Depot to pick up a couple 2 x 8s. (I figured out a way to carry them). I could use our SUV, but where's the fun in that?

Daily for me also. I’m about 150-200 miles a week and mostly highway with more peasant drives on the weekends. This is a very easy car to use as a daily driver.

I pretty much use my M40i for everything. But locations I know will have cramped or edgy parking means I'll take a smaller / less glam car. That's a very rare occurrence.

I daily’d my manual Saturn Sky for years, so my Z4 with its large, luxurious, comfortable interior and 10 times the trunk space and twice the fuel economy is very easily a DD. Zero regrets buying this on impulse

Mine is a Daily Driver.. however.. not as much now cause I dont' drive daily anymore. No longer need to go pick up my kid at school. WOOOO!
But if I need to do something.. chances are i'm taking the Z4.

It is a well known fact that the B58 engine is one of the best manufactured by BMW. Have you made a decision, are you going to get an M40i? |

My commute is only twice a week, 20 miles each way. The car is perfectly comfortable for the commute. I also drive the car maybe one day per weekend.

Weekend/sunny day car for me, fell in love with the Wrangler about 5 years ago and drive it when it’s rainy or we’re going off-roading.
Long history of daily driving Z cars though. 98 Z3, 00 MZ3, 07 Z4 coupe, 07 Z4 roadster. |

Daily driver for me, short 7 mile commute to the office daily and weekend toy unless we take my wife's A5 convertible. We Haven't had anything more "practical" for 15 years and haven't missed it.

I’ve had my Z4 for 3 months now, and it has been my daily car, except when it rains—then I switch to my 740e. So far, the Z4 hasn’t been out in the rain once, and I haven’t even driven it with the top up. I wonder if I’ll be able to keep that up during the winter months.
