I may be wrong but the important transition is from Order Accepted to order in production, unless that’s what you mean. There is no estimate for this. Took me about 45 days and I’ve seen others take less than a week.

BMW should definitely start doing this, getting a couple of pictures at certain points of your actual car being built is an awesome experience and makes it more personal.

It all depends on your luck

mine took 2 days but got stuck after production

Got my build week! June 2-8… so should have it with some summer left to enjoy it. I figure it will get to the East coast of US by end of July or early August.

When did you receive the “in production” email? Got mine recently so just trying to figure out timing. Thanks!

I'm still "at the port", per the website. I sold my 135i so I'm ready for the Z4 any day.

The app says it's "ready for transport" which is even further back so hopefully of the two it's the one that's wrong.

I never got the email, but I’m tracking on myBMW and it moved from “order recieved” to “scheduled for production” either May 7 or May 8. I called BMW Genius today and got the build week (23) so I could get an idea of the time it might get here.

Sadly I moved in the opposite direction. I was initially told I had a week 23 date and now it is week 29 and I am back at "order received"

Might as well confirm. Call 1 (844) 443-6487 and listen to the prompts until it says something about production schedule, listen to the bit about using the website, then it will ask you if you want to talk to an agent. Have your production number handy.

I just called and she said they had me at week 24 but it got moved up to week 22 which is Memorial Day week!! She said to call back June 7 for next update. It’s getting closer!!

Got word today that it moved back in the correct direction! Back to week 23. Who knows how all this works?

My order was accepted on 5/3 and switched to scheduled the same day, and then changed to "PRODUCTION BEGINS" today, 5/15.

I gave a deposit at the dealer with a build sheet on March 15 and still no news. They told me that they were waiting for the factory to “accept my order and give me a build code.” Are they just dragging me around?
