I ordered my car exactly two weeks ago, and today I received a status of "Production Begins." Although admittedly quite early, I'm very happy with the time frame thus far.

Victoria Hwy is moored in Baltimore harbor. This link will take you to the streaming video that will pan around intermittently. Look for the red & white hull with the large K on it. Oops just noticed Gats had already posted similar.

The wait is over - we took delivery of our frozen green Z4 with full cognac interior today.

Aside from the special paint and manual transmission, we chose the driver’s assistance package, HK stereo, and the wireless charger. We also have the staggered wheels.

Our order was placed at the dealer on April 18, so a little over four months from soup to nuts. Not too bad. This car sat in Brunswick for 10 days until it arrived at the dealership early yesterday morning.

This car arrived with 6 miles on it. The dealer put a mile on it taking it to get fueled up. We were told that this is a lower # of miles versus what they typically see. I appreciate the dealer keeping this car out of the way from other people/test drives until we were able to close the deal.

It is a LOT of fun to drive! I didn’t push it too hard being brand new and all, but the temptation is there.

To all of those waiting on your new cars, I am positive you will be very pleased with the Z4.

Yes. The dealership recommended a local business that installs XPEL. I’ve reached out to them to see when we can knock that out

Thank you - lots of greens around here. The local deer population is out of control. Anyone with colorful gardens needs to keep them surrounded by high wire fencing so their plants and flowers don’t end up as someone’s dinner.

Quick update to share some timing perspective for those who are waiting. My production date was 5/28 and it is scheduled to hit Brunswick port on 8/26. Nearly a full 3 months between the two. I'll share another update when it hits my dealer but if I'm you I'd be thinking 3+ months from production date to delivery and if it beats that then my expectations are beaten!

Installing allover Xpel Stealth is definitely the way to go.

Don’t just go to the shop recommended by the dealer as they compensate the person working there for the referral. Do yourself a favor and research all of the PPF shops in your area, go in person and see their workmanship and how clean their premises are. Check out their online reviews and don’t be afraid to negotiate the pricing.

That's great...will be interested to know how long it takes to get from the initial stop on the east coast to your port. Mine will be offloaded in SoCal.

The ship my car is on left Bremerhaven on August 10. It is now going through the Panama Canal today. Should arrive at Port Hueneme on September 3. From there probable will be about 3-5 days before it arrives at the dealer here in Fremont.

There’s only one place near me that installs it. I was doing some research about XPEL before I got the car, and this business is well regarded by those who have worked with them, The dealer’s recommendation is just icing on the cake

West Coast bound ships generally don't stop on the East Coast.

And all West Coast BMWs (coming from Europe) are offloaded at Port Hueneme.

Ships also stop at Long Beach as well before traveling up the line to Port Hueneme,

That happens when the car gets to the destination port. Whoever designed the tracking system somehow did not include two separate states for "at port" (origin / destination).

Oh yeah, there's also non-BMW cars on the ships and some (I believe Porsches) are unloaded in Long Beach.

I’ve found companies that negotiate need business. The firms I use do zero negotiating because they don’t need my business. I love a good negotiation but in this space that’s not a good thing in my market.
