I picked this up on a cruise for about $240, no taxes and it’s a full liter.

I think Z4 owners and fine whiskey pair quite well! As for scotch over bourbon, I would put two dozen of the bourbons on my shelf over any scotch I've ever had the dis-privelege of tasting, including Macallan 18!

Dude, you're so right.
I'm wrestling with a Stagg 22b Bourbon right now.... It's beyond complex, 132 proof, cinnamon, heat, oak, there is no scotch on the planet that stands up to this kind of stuff. No way Jose. Bring on the scotch-less Z4 Pics!!!

I'm all for peated whisky, but that's probably not the one I'd pick for most people who weren't already into scotch.
Personally, I think there's more flavor variation in scotch than bourbon, probably on account of bourbon's 51% corn mashbill requirement. But some of the newer bourbons have nice finishes (i.e., Angel's Envy) that push the envelope in a good direction. Ever since the social media horde invaded the whisk(e)y space, and the $25 bottles of Buffalo Trace and Old Weller stopped appearing on local bottle shop shelves, I lost interest in the hobby of whisky tasting. Still have a cabinet full of stuff, but touch it so infrequently that I think I've only gone looking for new stuff three or four times this year. And there's too much limited edition/cask strength stuff at ridiculous prices. Jefferson used to have a $40 bottle of rye. Now that stock is ending up in $80 'aged at sea' bottles. I think I prefer the original rye, and not just because it was half the price. |

Dropping off the wife at airport, full size checked bag, plenty of room to spare! Loving the trunk size, it was a factor in purchasing.
