To bad it's a stinking fuel car.
Would love it with, let's say double the electric power of my i3. Anyway, the time comes closer, when this kind of cars will be regulary blown by simple electric compacts. That's the revolution, not this rehoused old fashioned technic. Oh wait, I forgot the new digital display... |

I like the idea of a dual motor car but on a sports car like this I prefer RWD. |

That's a design mock-up on computer. Check out the actual images from inside car on the prototype

Just saw one this morning on the 405
The camo was a little different, but it had to be a Z4. Some notable differences from the photos above - the mirror caps were silver, like an M235i/M240i. The exhaust was the traditional round dual exhaust like you would see on the inline-6 engined 2/3/4 cars, not the trapezoid exhaust in the pictures on this thread.
Sorry I couldn't get any pics - I was driving and my phone was in a bag in the back seat. Overall, I like the proportions - it looks 10% bigger than the old Z4, but still smaller than my 2 series. DBinOC |

Thanks... someone had posted this in another thread.
So, is that a Boxster in the last scene at the gas station? Z4 behind Boxster? Reading too much into that? |

Interesting hands on review on the new z4 preproduction car by Auto express:
Interesting points from this video: - The presenter says he's seen the definitive version without camo and that it looks good/aggressive, and that we get to see it too in a few weeks! - The presenter says the (new) electronic LSD needs some tweaking; is that a simulated cheap electronic LSD that operates by means of actuation the rear brakes, or a proper electronic LSD like the M2/M3 has with electronically actuated clutch plates? (my guess its alas the former). - Looking at the inner layout of the car and going on the comment of the presenter that it has the normal ZF 8 speed with tweaked software, this car is definately NOT going to get a transaxle like some members here have stated. That also would have bumped the price significantly imho (which would be a bad choice for a car that has ample economic impact, having to team up with another manufacturer to get decent production numbers), and develloping a completely new transmission for a car in such small numbers is a bit far fetched too I recon; BMW is a master in using off the shelf parts from other chassis and this certainly not fits that ideology. - The chassis setup is good, precise and sporty according to the presenter, so I guess a step away from the e89 and towards the old e85

Anxiously waiting to see both of them in person. Love the bug splattered look on the front bumpers. Nothing like a car that has been driven hard and fast.

Some questions since I'm not updated about this car:
1) This is the Toyota BMW collaboration right? If so, where will this car be made? Japan or Germany? 2) Will there be a retractable hard top version? (e.g. M4 convertible) |

2) No. The BMW will be a soft top and the Toyota will be a coupe. |
