Yes. But it’s sad how much development has occurred in north GA in the past few years. There was a huge lull after 2008 but things started to pick up again after 2012. A lot of fun roads were re-striped as solid double yellows with no passing zones and there are new traffic control signs and signals appearing wherever there’s new development.

Thank God for the protected national forest land sitting in the middle of everything, or that entire area would likely be lined with new townhomes and strip malls.

Also I’m a little

You’re right. Basically past Cleveland and Dahlonega is driving bliss.

Especially in a 6 speed MANUAL!!

I mean I bought the coupe version.

If they made a version with a hard top I'd trade my Supra in.

Profound truth. There are some of us who can’t get past the Toyota badge…. But more power to you. The Supra absolutely flies around a track.

The M coupe is a sacred cow for many of us. Look at that stance!!

The M440i was never offered as manual, only auto.

Thank you, BMW! You gave us an enthusiast vert. That said it is kinda tough to think that the m240i vert offered a manual, two extra seats and the same (mid-range) turbo six engine for well below 60k. Sure, that was up until 2021, BUT c'mon. Even when adjusted for inflation, it's WELL below the z4... I guess all of this is to say that I never felt like the z4 was well priced

Agree $70k-$80k is pushing it, but 1) that's top of the line with all options and the big engine; 2) the market for roadsters is very limited and it's basically Miata -> Z4 -> 718/982 and F Type and Corvette. The F type is getting killed off soon. 3) they contract manufacture so their profit margins are slimmer and price is higher. Given all that, it's not a terrible price. I just wish it came with some niceties like merino leather, more color options, better brakes, etc.

Funny- I love the notchy nature of the bmw. Porsche has more precision than both Honda and BMW. Actually owned all of these cars and 997.1 Porsche 911 was the best feel of them all.

The Z4 really is a unicorn in BMW’s line-up and actually does share a lot of parts with M models. Even more now.

The tires are lifted from the F8X M models, the suspension is from the G8X models. The B58 means it’ll sound fantastic. The only part that’s shared with non/M models is the firewall. Otherwise the Z4 is pretty bespoke in the bmw line-up. My GM doesn’t know if it’s coming to Canada yet, but I’m hoping to order mine for a spring 2025 delivery.
This or 718 GTS 4.0 used ? Both 6MT of course.

Found something funny, on the Canadian configurator when you select aluminum mesh trim your presented with a manual shifter configuration, looks like an Easter egg altrough its probably just a programming error lol.

Note: the bug is only present when you chose Portimao Blue

I'm actually very interested in grabbing one if available in Canada, the price here isn't too bad, it's one of the last new BMW with physical/shortcut buttons (I hated my id8 experience with a passion). For puttin around on backroads and roadtrips the B58 is actually more enjoyable and much more fuel efficient than the S58. Might be decent for 1-2 track days per season too with the awesome chassis it's on.

It's going to be a fun keeper Roadster for sure.

Would be my pick with leather/Alcantara seats

Indeed. The E89 is the worst BMW, and one of the worst cars I've ever owned. (Despite looking pretty great.)

I like portimao blue but I have a feeling I’d end up with San Francisco red. Something feels more rare about it, unless the MT gets some sort of crazy exclusive colour. I went individual on my M4 so I’d want something to complement that. Yes, this would be my second summer toy. I pushed the GM at my dealer to get my m4 built before the ID8 switchover.

I think your right, it just looks better in SF red + red calipers, looks special.

That is a great color combo. The red looks really good in the bright sun. Now I’m tempted to leave the blue behind.

Thanks for posting all of those pics in different lighting. It helps a lot to see the variation.
