Some of us don't need a shotgun to get respect - our presence commands it.

Sooo...what sort of shotgun do you normally rack?

What are everyone's thought on buying bulk ammo in .223?

Should I just get the cheapest steel case stuff because prices are low and it isn't really worth it to save brass?

If you're just plinking, steel is the way to go. I run steel through my one AR that doesn't have an expensive barrel.

Makes sense, that's all I'd be doing. I could see reloading being something I could get into for a hobby, but I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Any .223/5.56 should run in your gun, I usually buy the cheapest I can for range duty. I would stay away from reloads because some reloaders don't crimp the primer pocket. You don't want a primer falling out and getting stuck in the clockwork.

I wanted to get into reloading. I actually even invested a small fortune into reloading equipment. It's so unbelievably time consuming that it's not worth the few bucks you'll save. I wish somebody would come and buy all my reloading supplies/equipment.

If you're going to get steel you'll be restricted to outdoor shooting, which is where you'd want to shoot anyways. Most indoor ranges aren't that big (some maybe 50 yds, range by me is only 25), and brass only.

Where in Bumville do you live?

We've got three 100 yd indoor ranges with in 10 miles. Three 200yd outdoor ranges within 20 miles and a 1000yd range within 30 miles.

No indoor ranges near me at all, the jealousy is real. We have some BAD ASS outdoor ranges but it's hotter than hell to shoot outdoors in the summer.

gotcha. I'll mix it up. There's a good outdoor range nearby, but it's also cold as shit here for several months out of the year.

Seems like it would have to be something you find enjoyable otherwise the time and money isn't really worth it.

If you shoot it alot, it's gonna cost a ton of time. If you don't shoot a lot, what's the point of spending all the money on equipment....catch 22.
