I usually figure a month for delivery once the car gets on the boat.
How long it waits for the boat is the real wild card.

I’m not so sure about that. Ordered mine mid Jan. The dealer configurator was already up and running. And my order was accepted almost immediately by BMW Belgium, but estimated manufacturing is still scheduled for May. So I guess the US will get the MY25 earlier than the old continent.

They do that for all models, not just Z4s.

As a side note, that image makes them look really flat and uninspired.

CA called yesterday to say sales manager was able to get a March allocation for my M40i 6MT order!! I am at 112, Scheduled for Production, this morning. Alpine White with non-ZED Cognac interior and 19"/20" wheels. ZDA, ZHO, ZPP, 688. Loaded in MyBMW and ready to start checking at least daily.

Update: Things are moving quickly now. Order is now at 150, Production Begins, and prodution date is shown as March 21st.

Congrats! I'm curious your logic for the AW? I love the color, my 135i is AW and I've been considering it again. Was it just purely aesthetics and your favored color, or any more to it? I think it's a great choice of course, just wondering.

Got word yesterday that my order will not enter production until week 15 (Apr 7), so it will likely be may-June before I see it.
On another note, early Feb I went to my local dealer and they said they did not have information on manual Z4. Two days later I had order in with another dealer. But the best was an email Sunday from local dealer telling me that they would not take order because they did not have allocation. The CA at this dealer still has not seen the Feb 1 BMW release for the order parameters.
A cynic might ask if the goal here is to try to get a bidding war for their allocations.

Given the metallic paint is “free” with the ZED package I really looked at SRG, SFR, and PB but I just kept coming back to the AW with all black trim. It’s very striking to me. I also considered the frozen colors but coming from an all black Corvette I did not want to sign up again for a high maintenance color or pay the price to protect it.

I like Alpine white had it in my F80 M3 and because its flat its sporty, considering it again for my M40i, torn between BSM and White

Ahh yes, the storm trooper look. I've had several AW cars including my E89. Bi-color or silver wheels help tone down the severity.

The one thing that I really liked about AW was that the non-metallic paint is much easier to touch-up. With a good sand/clear-coat/sand/polish it's almost impossible to spot the repair. You can't do that with metallic paints. Even if it's laid down even and finished properly the metallic bits in the touch-up won't match the way they laid down in the original paint. So even being flat to the touch, with the right light you can see where the repair is due to the different reflectivity of the metal.

Has anyone had difficulty entering your VIN in the MY BMW app when at status 150. It keeps coming back with an error message.

For the 450+ BMW Center/retailers here in the USA, there are only 23 units currently available.

Just wait a day or two. If you haven't already, you can just enter the production number if you have it. If you have it loaded in MyBMW with the production number it should automatically start displaying the VIN when it gets the update.

The MyBMW servers aren't tied directly into the ERP system. They get data dumps at semi-regular intervals. So information in the tracker can be delayed. It can also 'miss' steps when you get to the production day. It's not unusual to jump from 155 Quality Check directly to 182 Awaiting Carrier Assignment.
