Oem alloys uk
Hi guys. Fairly new here so please go easy on me.
I picked up my dream car last week and just got the devastating news that all 4 alloys are buckled. I trust this information is 100% correct as I used to work along side the company that have told me. I’m looking at a UK cost for the Z3 19” alloys in bicolour cerium grey. Tyres are sorted just the alloys if anyone knows? Thanks |

First off... welcome.
I can't answer your question, but do you have any idea how ALL FOUR rims were buckled? |

So i'm guessing around 4500, 4000 pounds these days you can easily find them used so i would try going that route found a site in the uk that sells them at a discount currently https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bm...00m_wheel_6324

I’d personally consider it free choice now then across the whole wheel spectrum… unless of course you are insistent on OEM.
Are they forged I doubt it TBF, could pick up some nice flow formed wheels and correct a little offset too for a nicer look. EBay is often your friend. Many OEM dealers selling there too. Other than that Dealer quotes perhaps, Cotswold BMW used to be great for M Performance parts for example, had quite a reputation for it.

Ok so. Thankfully the garage has explained they are happy to replace the alloys with secondary market ones. I’m thinking of going black to make it look a bit different and to put this pain behind me 😂
What’s the thoughts on this and any recommendations? |

A lot of the cheap aftermarket wheels are simple cast alloys that are a lot heavier than OEM, adding significantly to your unsprung weight, a bad thing for a number of reasons. You should avoid them.

Surely has to be better than driving around on 4 buckled alloys though right?

Not only does that extra weight have a negative effect on handling, it also places more stress on other suspension components, reducing their life. |
