I bought my M3 in FL and they brought it to me in NC in less than a week. Open trailer for $600. They offered the cover trailer option for about $800. They collect your money until the car is getting picked up, no before. No deposits etc....

Trevino Transport just brought my m4 enclosed and did an excellent job. Appropriately priced.

Auto shipping suggestions

I'm looking at purchasing an E92 M3, but will need to ship it across the country. Any suggested shipping companies others have used with good results?

I had the best experience with:

CCSA - Danielle Roth
AmeriFreight

Had my M4 shipped from coast to coast. My car was the "cheapest" on the truck together with some GT3.

Excellent service!

10 years ago or so when I used one, they weren't exactly companies. They present as much, glitzy website, say "we" and "our" a lot, and in the end it's a couple people working out of a basement acting as brokers. They put info on a national board of sorts, and truckers look through it and see what might fit their schedule / location / what they are willing to take as payment.

See if you can find something local, and if so if you can talk to them. The idea will be to say where shipping from, where to, and see if they have advice on a good price for it. If it's too low your car will sit forever. Then they'll get it into the database and get their cut when it does finally ship.

This is what I figured out from talking to several companies back then. I sort of doubt it changed.

Are you looking for open or closed trailer? Do you have a budget?

The ones Ive seen recommended are:

Intercity Lines - More expensive
Plycon
Runbuggy
Montaway - Broker so its hit or miss on your experience.

I shipped my 18' M3 through Montaway and they were by far the cheapest option but my experience was questionable. The truck they contracted it out to had no communication after pick up until the day they arrived (multiple days late).

Plycar

I've used them a few times to transport Tesla from PHL to TUS & back. Around $1/mile, fully enclosed. No issues with pick up, delivery or condition of car at either end. Plycar drivers are employees, not subcontractors. This is a family owned business. Ask for Jim Ferzoco -631-973-3090

I have used several. United was the worst as I paid for covered transport but they subbed to a guy with an open trailer. Never again.

Used these guys four times now. Excellent! https://reliablecarriers.com/

montway. but they are a broker. But i've had luck with them 3-4x regardless.

Just make sure you get top load, and enclosed.

If on a budget, go thru an online quote site (there're plenty), you'll get bombarded by brokers, just pick one based on total cost and whatever reputation you'll find. In most cases they all the same, just a matter of availability. Speaking from experience.

Wow, in about 4 posts I think you now have the full range of opinions I've seen on the other threads for this topic: 'Use a dedicated carrier' thru to 'go w/ lowest bidder, they are all the same'. I've seen the carnage that can arise from either open carriers, or, even worse, putting a cover on an open carry car. I would strongly recommend using a dedicated carrier that hires their own pro drivers, not subbing it out nor swapping your car to different carriers part of the way there; and a covered carrier unless it is a project car that you plan to do significant paint correction to anyway. Before you compare prices, get a quote to refinish 2-4 panels, since that is a likely result of going with a cheapo open carrier. And I'd gladly be in on the Cannonball approach, if you need another driver.

Had a new car transported from a dealer in South Carolina to Oregon in June with Fred Mills from Advantage Auto Transport. He is a broker and he answered all my questions for me to make a decision. He was able to arrange an enclosed transport for a reasonable price and I had a great experience with my car loaded and delivered with out any issues. The car was delivered in 4 days. I was impressed the truck that transported my car were a 2 man team - one person driving the car and the other guiding / monitoring and operating the elevator as oppose to a single person you normally see holding and throwing the elevator remote while driving the car.

I looked into Reliable Carriers and Intercity Lines however they were the highest on the price range.

Whoever you decide to go with always ensure you take vidoes / pictures of the car prior /during loading and when the car is being off-loaded.

Best of luck.

I've heard good things about them too and see them out here in the Detroit area several times a week. They have their own drivers right? did they show up with the orange trucks every time?

Yes to those questions. Also, each car in the trailer was covered in plastic. Really first rate. I'm already a repeat customer and will definitely use them again.
