Rad! I've got a soft spot for Datsuns.

Here's the 1968 2000 Roadster that I swapped an SR20DET into (hence my screen name, DET Roadster). It was a handfull when the boost came on. So much fun.

also the sr sound is not that bad for a 4cyl. Not a boxer unequal headers like, but still.

I had a base sentra B15 5mt with the SR20DE and it was fun .

Since I work from home, I need more space on my desk. So I did a wall mounted PC.

nothing crazy, its a working desktop, I dont game.
Paid 250$ for the PC + 170$ GTX960 + 80$ 256GB 850 pro SSD.
i7 3770k 4.2-4.1-4.0-3.9 clocks. 8gb ram ddr3.

Used black floor stain with few drops of eggshell grey paint.

to this

also changed my desk top with a acacia slab

night

this weekend I add a resource monitor and hide all the wires that were visible at the bottom

That is awesome, I really like that!! I just use my company laptop or my iPad for everything or I might consider something similar. Maybe when I get into CNC or 3D printing.

Here is my last purchase after I "built" it and got everything adjusted and aligned.

The frame is anodized aluminum. Ordered from these guys as I found their site to be really well laid out with lots of instructional videos and ideas: https://8020.net/product-basics That said, it's NOT cheap. You can find this stuff for less through Amazon and such. But being totally new to it I don't want to fuss with not being sure all the parts would fit so I just sucked it up and ordered from 8020. One thing I really liked is the precision. Everything is bang-on perfect from length, to perfect right angles on cuts. I spent about 5 hours planning it out and shopping and about an hour assembling, which is the exact opposite of how I usually roll when using wood or fabricating metal where I just buy a crap ton of material and see where the project takes me.

Digging those overhead shelves! I need to make some myself.

"80 series" as in Landcruiser?!
Oh sheesh. I started playing around on 8020's website and discovered their CAD models. Time to run out to the truck and start taking measurements...

Put some stuff in the cart and see how it adds up....

Time to run out and get a 2nd job to support your new 8020 habit. LOL.

These guys have the same stuff but cheaper. I figured it out after I spent $500 on 8020. https://www.tnutz.com

Got the rest of the sleeping platform made this weekend.

Putting my saw to work to put together the drawers for my mitre saw station. Pictured is a smaller 6" h x 28" l x 22" w drawer. The largest one will be 13" h with same base.

Anyone have advice on keeping a natural wood finish/look but increasing grain contrast? Putting a water based finish over walnut is too homogenous...more grain pop would be nice.

Some going away presents. I didn’t get a finish picture of the last one but I added a frame and covered the center in epoxy.

Very nice! This is one of the things on my project list.

Are you stationed there or making those for people you know?

I've been using a satin oil based finish in all my walnut projects and really loving the results. Used it on all the walnut in our kitchen.

That looks nice!

I was making 'kind of' black pipe shelves using walnut. The room color is a little dark (Sherwin Williams' Waterloo) so a lighter finish would go well. I like Danish Oil (Dark Walnut) but it may be to dark for tye room color.

Not a big project like some here but its technically the last thing I made. Well, kind of made. Bought the racks, did the wood burning myself. I've since added a couple smaller pine trees to the bottom one because it looked odd to me. Still need to seal them. Will be used for hanging snowshoes.

That's some great artistic talent!! Very nice!

My last project was making a Kinara for my BIL. He wants to paint it so just shaped and sanded from an 8/4 poplar block. I also just cut a quick wood ornament for the wife to paint.
