Only 10 minutes in Starbuck's line? That's pretty good compared to the ones around here. They'll definitely kill your average speed.

It’s worse inside the store. I used to go there for just plain old hot coffe, but they seem to have forgotten how to make that without a 10-15 minute wait behind all the fancy drinks that only taste like coffee.

Haha. I do cold brew and pretty much have it down to a science as to when the crowds aren’t there. You can also order ahead. 10 min is a long wait but I was enjoying the weather and didn’t care

Why not order ahead in the app and just get down and pick it up?

Easy. Because it’s coffee. If they need to pour it in advance of me arriving it’s sitting around getting cold. There’s zero prep work involved.
Their name nothwithstanding, they’re not really about just coffee anymore. |

There's ways to time the order to minimize wait. I do have to say, I'm one of those people that needs to wait for 5-10 minutes for the coffee to cool down before I can drink it, so for me it being warm but not excessively hot when I get there is a huge plus.

That’s a good suggestion, though I do like my coffee super hot.
That said, I pretty much cut the cord to Starbucks during the pandemic as I happened to live near the only store that Starbucks actually shut down within 5-10 miles. That and I was already cutting back on my coffee consumption as well, so fewer opportunities and less need! I drink my one K-Cup of regular coffee at home in the morning, and then it’s maybe another decaf K-cup and done for the day. I’ve only been in that same store a couple times post-pandemic, and I had to wait a long time for a basic coffee. Pre-pandemic the cashier usually handled plain coffee drinks so they didn’t get queued up behind the things that take time. But they seem to have forgotten how to do that. |

Eco pro disengages the “clutch” so you coast, but adaptive does a great job on the mileage. We’ve had a lot of discussion on this topic. I wish I knew more about the magic of adaptive. If I don’t need to accelerate much/often, I use eco pro. Especially handy with adaptive cruise.

FWIW, preliminary results based on September's summary suggest BMW's calculations are optimistic. My calculations based on actual data is around 2 mpg lower than BMW's calculations. I plan to monitor over the next couple of months to see if the trend continues. |

Since I discovered it, Adaptive has been my mode of choice. I can get all the power I want if I need to pass somebody on the highway when I push really hard on the accelerator pedal while my car is not as powerful in the same type of passing scenario using Eco Pro mode.
