Blimey, this is turning into an ‘oil’ thread
While we may disagree on the best way to clean the soft top, I believe we all agree that certain things are not good, for example a high pressure wand, aggressive chemicals designed to clean other surfaces. Unless one is looking for a concours finish, any mild cleaning technique is going to work. Don’t be over-zealous - those creases are going to be there are you aren’t scrubbing them out. A protectant will help with longevity, but really it depends on the environment you drive in which determines how detailed(?) you need to be, or how often you clean.
