I think that is pretty close. The character lines on the hood do not match up to the patent drawings, and it would be unusual if the M40i had a different hood from the 30i. Also, the area around the kidney grills looks a little wonky. Other that I think this is a good render.

I like it.

Unusual, yes. But not unheard of.

The Z4 3.0si Coupe and Z4 M Coupe had different hoods. The M had raised creases. The 3.0si was "flat".

I own no garage queens. If it's in my driveway, it's been ridden hard and put away wet. ...and now, with a light crust of Maine road salt.

I understand that the raised creases were driven by practical considerations because the engine in the E85M / E86M sits a bit taller than the engine in the non-M cars and required a bit more space.

They really need to make a full-on M version of this car. Seems downright crazy not to

One could only hope. This may be enough to change my want of a Boxster.

Z4 M not going to happen.
BMW only sold 1,815 units on the last Z4 M.
Sad but true.

Arrow IAA Concept Z4...

BMW has stayed fairly close to it's concept cars as of late. I think the car will look more like the car that we saw at Frankfurt, last September than this render. Here are my pics from the IAA.

NOPE! Absolutely not, go look at the camo pics. And just like then render up top, the horizontal line going across the hood is not on the concept. The grilles on the camo Cars are smaller and further up.

Unfortunately because of pedestrian safety laws the hood-line is a given.

The grills hard to say.

Long as it's same proportions as the 718s, this looks promising
