Any news on a possible M2 CSL and 2GC? I'm still skeptical about these cars

Am I the only one who still is skeptical that the M2 and X4 M40i share an engine rather than the M240i and the X4 M40i sharing an engine..

Still hoping this is all misinformation out out there by BMW to purposely hide the real engine in the M2

One can only hope, right ??

Note that the lowest output 6 cylinder is now a 40i. So, a 35i could now apply to a highly tuned 4 cylinder. We know that B48 has the potential.

This will be different from M-only DCT and would show up in some model(s) 2-3 years from now. This is highly speculative though, which is why I would like to know what SCOTT26 is allowed to say about it.

BMW was one of the first car companies to integrate Apple's iPod Out feature oh so many moons ago. Ironic that they're dragging their feet on CarPlay now.

Agreed. I don't see how BMW would fit a transverse 6-cylinder engine under the hood of the X2.

Oh god... transverse BMW engines...

They may not want to give up control of the infotainment space. Once everyone runs CarPlay or Android Auto there is less to differentiate the in car experience.

I just hope they offer both.

Argh. I'm just about to buy an X4 35i and trying to decide if I hold out for the M40i if it's only six months from SOP. Not sure of I want to hold out for the likely higher price though.

Yes the ZF variant is being evaluated but nothing that I know shows a production commitment as yet.

The M Performance BMW X1 M35ixDrive and X2 M35ixDrive are four cylinders.
As is the BMW 2er M35ixDrive Active Tourer.

The engine could also feature in the next MINI Countryman S JCW.

I was thinking the same numbers just reversed... the 340 has 320hp and 330 ftlbs so my guess is that the power kit will make it a round 350/350

I understand that, but the engine is the heart of any car, and this one is not special.

Does this make sense for the F15 X5 LCI not coming out until 2018?

I would have guess that the LCI should be due for the F15 in the summer of 2016 as a 2017 model. Does the X5 not follow typical BMW life cycles?

2er active tourer M Sport? This is a joke right? BMW is not sure about a F81 but a M version of a fwd is ok?

There are plenty of people who love the E36 M3 and that engine had very little differentiation to the production series engines in the US

unless I am mistaken the X5 remodel was 2014 model year, 4 years before LCI means 2018 model year should be the LCI (which would be 2017 actual year), the X6 should be 2019 model year (2018 actual year).

I think you are right but going by the original post it looks like the F15 is extended out one extra year before the LCI comes out. Better for me if true that means i can enjoy my 2015 for alittle longer before its semi out of date lol

The current X1, on the other hand, is a brilliant car. Its only problem is it's much smaller on the inside than F31.
Are you kidding me, the E84 is selling well, but it's cheap, old and ugly next to the 3 touring.
The next baby X is going to do well imo.
