ADV.1 + Bugatti = Drool

I cannot believe someone finally had the balls to void their warranty on their Bugatti for a set of rims. He has to be rolling in dough. The wheel specs are 20x11 front and 21x14 rear . See link:

Pretty stupid.

You can bet all that work isn't going to cost him much less than 50k and even the people that make the wheels don't sound confident, clearly admitting that it wont perform as well.

I hope it works out for everyone but there is no reason to undo work that took a billion engineers a billion days to do just so it can perform worse and look different. Everything on the car is already at a level of perfection this outfit will find hard to match.

ADV.1 are pretty talented people... they've already put wheels on the 599 GTO and the Reventon. They also did custom wheels for a Jaguar XJ220. They just don't want to take the blame if the guys car gets messed up some how, so they are saying that he is fully consenting.

Oh LAWD

If I had the money I probably would, depending on what the wheels look like. These wheels should be concave as a motherfucker.

Oh ya, the concave should be ridiculous! Still tho, OEM wheels on a bugatti really is something you dont' want to mess with. Those engineers that designed em know exactly what they were doing and have had so much experience and time to develop it.

Interesting read.

If for one reason only, it would be because "they" said it couldn't be done.
I'm sure that's the main reason for it, plus the fact it will be the only Veyron with aftermarket wheels.

The original wheels were designed for the top speed, if I had the money I would swap out the wheels too. These cars are likely weekend cruisers that never even go up to 150mph let alone 230+.

I like these -

They're the OEM wheels from the Sang Noir.

Give us a chance boys! There is nothing magical about the OEM wheels - there is something magical about the OEM tires. The owner of the car decided he didn't like being bent over for a 40k wheel rebuild and 20k for new tires and decided to go another route.

He fully accepts that he can't max the car anymore (and can just swap his wheels when he chooses to do so) but it's not exactly like you can max a bugatti on just any road on your way to work either so losing 60mph off the top speed isn't really a loss as 99% of the fun is the sub 200mph accelerations.

I'm with the car owner, I'd put top quality aftermarket wheels on it too. It doesn't what car I own, it's gonna get wheels.
Of course I'd save the stockers for when the opportunity comes to take the Bugatti to it's top speed.

A lot of the Bugatti owners have been complaining about the massive tire expenses some to the point where they find it's cheaper to ship their car to the road where they are going to drive the car and then they fly in on a private jet/heli and that keeps the cost down so they put less miles on the car and have less wear on the tires.

So yea - there is such a thing as cheap rich people... but their definition of cheap still would make most people take notice!
