Performance Tires
I believe all Z4s have non-run flat performance tires. I'm assuming this means "summer tires." For the people that live in cold climates and don't want to change out tires twice a year, do they also have all season tires? Also, if they are non-run flat, what are you doing in case of a flat tire since there isn't a spare?

I'm in a colder climate and am a year-round driver. Not too worried about non-runflats but have thought about getting a winter set of squares. While I'm pretty much work-from-home for the foreseeable future, I may just take my chances with the performance tires and stay home in icy/snowy conditions. I live in Mid-Atlantic so winters are spotty.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with all seasons. It's not like you are castrating the car, but the early reports saying that BMW built the car around the tire aren't all complete marketing BS. Likewise, I wouldn't drive the car when it's below 30 or so (yes, I know, 45 degrees is the magic number, and I do stick to that, but in an emergency...), even if the roads are clear. And in our area it's not unusual to get down to the teens in January as you know. |

I couldn't find any all-season tyres in the standard size but due to lockdown I had winters on until June and they were fine even when we had a "heatwave" (UK standards) of mid-eighties temperatures for a few weeks. |

I didnt have a problem with mine this past winter in New York. I stay home when it snows and the roads are clear the next day. Plus due to global warming (yes its real)it hardly snows or gets real cold. Daily Driver.

Living in Texas, I never knew what "winter tires" were. I am looking forward to December when I can ride with the top down on a brisk sunny day.
July thru most of September is another story.... |

Quick question.....anyone running tires wider than 275? Its easy to break the 275's loose on launch & 1/2 shift.

Just after getting a set of Pilot Sport 4 (Not Pilot Sport 4s). They are not a direct replacement for the Super Sports that came with it(that's the 4s) and are meant to be a more all rounder, better in wet etc. After a week I am happy with them. Should suit the mild year round climate here in Ireland.
