Im thinking of selling my E90....

I have owned my 325i for almost two years now and I think I have come to the conclusion that I need something else. I am almost a senior in college, trying to get into med school and dont want the hassle of "having" to work in order to pay for a car that i could own ( a much better one too) once I finish med school. I wanna here anyone's idea to my situation and or what they would do. I am only 21 and feel like I have been blessed enough with this car but i need to focus my attention elsewhere. I am thinking of getting a used 03-04 V6 accord, the new model passat or a legacy GT. I want a used TL but i think they wont be around 18K, which is all that i am wanting to spend.

You gotta do your own finance first. What's your situation? Is your BMW completely paid off? One car that is fun to drive and reliable is the new Civic SI if you dont mind being associated to rice.

I owe 17K on my car and its worth 25K. Im gonna push to get 8K out of the deal and then get maybe an Accord for under 18K. This way I would owe only 10K on my car.

I bought a Corvette while I was in college and I don't regret it a bit. I saved every penny I made from my summer internships to make payments throughout the year.

I would keep the car.

On the other hand (not trying to sound snobby here), if you think you would honestly be happy driving a lesser car, then the premium your spending on the BMW is probably money wasted.

If you want to do that trade off, there are other cars to consider too apart
from the Accord. For example the Mazda 6 or the Mazda 3. Very nice cars.
And of course the Passat that you mentioned.

You are the only one who knows best your financial situation. If you can
afford to continue making payments without stretching yourself and with
having enough room if things get tough to keep the car without having to
sell it in a hurry and lose big money, then I say keep it. At the end you will
own a nice stylish car and its resale value is going to be very good.

If on the other hand you're finding things difficult and you struggle with
the payments, then get rid of it. You don't want a knock on effect on the
rest of your finances, losing the car or going into the red. And don't feel
sorry about it either if you chose that. You have plenty of years ahead of
you to get a BMW again

I understand where you're coming from with finances and such but a savings of $7k doesn't seem that much to go from a 325i to an Accord (I've had several Hondas before, so this isn't a BMW biased remark). If money is the only factor, the question is ultimately in your court. Personally, I'd stick with the 325i if the savings was only $7k.
