2 Month Delay on Order

I ordered a Z4 M40i back in June. I just got word today that it is delayed until at least an October build maybe later.

I've heard the Magna Steyr was shut down because of the covid-19 for some time.

Mine took 3 months and a half to be delivered.
Ordered and delivered in europe.

October build? Mid-November delivery earliest I am afraid.

The wait sucks and of course getting convertible in late fall or winter.

Luckily I live in AZ so I should be still able to enjoy the convertible most of the year. I do like to drive to some of the northern mountain areas but it can get risky and cold up there in Jan-Mar.

Well, in that case: best Thanksgiving ever!

Did you get a production number when you ordered back in June? Or did you just tell the dealer your specs? It's possible that they didn't have a production spot available the time and haven't gotten many since then, hence the delay.

I did you go through Chapman or BMW NS?

I don't have a production number and they have a very small allotment of Z4's for upcoming production.

Arrowhead, I am going to look a Frozen Grey one in a couple hours.

Yeah, so there is a chance that Arrowhead didn't even have a production slot for you when you did order. So, it may not have gotten delayed. They could have just been hoping for a slot and not have gotten one.

Regardless, it sucks. But, not like you want to be driving top down right now anyway. So damn hot here.

The dealer got in a special order M40i Frozen Grey, which took 8 months to get. The purchaser had already went with something else. It didn't have the executive package I wanted but does have Active Cruise control.

Unfortunately before I headed home yesterday a huge dust storm/monsoon hit the area. I left it at the dealership. I will pick it up today.
