Sounds like a cross between a traditional American V8 and something from Modena. Can't wait to hear it under load.

Wow just wow, first the Chrysler Hellcats and now this, I think I'm going to have to give up my aversion to US cars.

Since this has over 500hp, what will the GT500 be packing?

I'm with you, it's a Shelby it's gotta have stripes, just like a MINI Cooper has to have stripes.

Shouldn't all M fans get a Mustang now? AMG is the new M.

If you want a small nimble car that mimics early M3s, then no

I'm sure the M2 will be great but I'm not sure if it will compare to this. We'll see though, nothing against the M2.

I sure as hell hope the GT350 is not $50k or even $55k, I hope it's out of my price range. I expect it to undercut the Z/28 by a chunk, but not that much. There's no way it goes $50-55k with what they've put into it, plus the Shelby moniker.... I just don't see it.

If they make it that cheap, I'm going to be pissed I didn't hold off for it.

If it's $50k then RIP Z/28 and my M2 deposit.

Really wish it had a DCT option but it's a fantastic effort nevertheless.

I'm curious to know is there going to be much business in the aftermarket for this car?

I mean the wheels, exhaust, suspension and engine seem all race ready. Maybe parts to shed weight, but this seems like a race ready out the box mustang.

There's probably a lot of room left in the exhaust. Ditch the cats, long tube headers, less restrictive mufflers.

The '13/14 GT500s are already packing 662hp.

I can't even imagine how it would sound with that setup. Almost gives me goosebumps

I am curious what other variants will Ford have with this engine? There is no way they invested all the funds for just one model.

I am giving BMW M points for chassis and suspension design buy can't wait to see track reviews of this beast. I hope the car is good all around. Damn good job Ford so far!!

I never thought, but love this car. Huge torque but no turbo, high revving and Ferrari+US sound. And manual. Almost a dream. How come BMW can't do that?

THIS!!!

Manual is a deal breaker for me. No patience nor knees for it. I understand the purpose so no need to cry. I'm sure Ford will unleash a GT500 variant with an Auto-Manual.

They did a one off for the 5.8L GT500 engine, don't see why this is any different.

I think mainly that cars get dinged pretty heavily with taxes based on the size and/or emissions of the engine in Europe.

Here in the states, we just have to worry about the gas guzzler tax.

Oh no, I get it. My buddy has that exact body shell in that color by the way, only he's making about 450 to the wheels with a crate motor and a Detroit locker lol.

I'm just not convinced that striping should continue with the S550. It works on older models and even the retro S197s, but they're made of large slab surfaces that suit those type of graphics.
