Question about iDrive in system car image
I recently took my car in for year 1 service, mainly an oil change, and a few days after picking up my car I noticed that the car image being displayed when I switch drive modes (and I am assuming other areas of the iDrive system, just haven't checked) is not displaying the correct trim anymore.
I have a Frozen Grey 2022 Z4 with shadow line trim, and what is being shown is the correct color car, but the trim and mirror caps are now in cerium grey. Also the wheel rims are no longer correct. My car is still showing correctly (correct trim and wheels) in the MyBMW iOS app. I can only think that maybe when the dealership reset the system for servicing the incorrect image was selected. The only other thing I can think of is about a week before taking my vehicle in for service I did the OTA update to my car. But I dont recall seeing this change until after my dealership servicing. Has anyone ever had anything similar happen? Can I just go back to the dealership to get it set back to the correct image? I do have bimmercode and could probably fix it myself with enough research, but figure if the dealership can fix it that would be bettering in the long run. [Also sidenote, but not really important to the wrong image issue] I have tried emailing the dealership a few times over the past couple of weeks and have gotten zero response from BMW SF. I didn't really have the greatest experience with them when I dropped off my car. I was supposed to get my scheduled maintenance/oil change and a full car detailing, but I was told the service center would recommend that I find a 3rd party specialist for the detailing because I ordered my Z4 in Frozen Grey from the factory. While I 100% understand that frozen paint requires special care, I would assume that the manufacture would be the best place to get detailing done. After chatting with the specialist doing the intake, he finally said they should be able to do, but I would have to leave my car until at least two days. I opted to not go forward with the detailing during my service appt, because I can’t be without my vehicle for 2 days without a loaner (they didnt have any available), and honestly I was a bit concerned that getting the detailing done at BMW SF could damage my paint finish. |

Literally just a good exterior wash and full interior cleaning. I know I can just do it myself and normally I do. but I figured since I was going to have it at the dealer for the day, I could just have the to a professional deep clean.

But really the car detailing confusion is not too concerning to me, I will just stop being lazy and continue to do it myself with my Dr Beasley matte wash and Chemical Guys products. Mainly I just want to stop seeing the incorrect trim when I switch from comfort to sport drive modes. |

i just took my car in for service and told them i wanted my car image to be fixed as well. they said they researched it and spoke to a genius and needed to keep it for an extra day to download 3 updates because they thought it would fix it. it didn't. anyone been successful in adjusting their car image?

*edit* the screenshot is from the guy who helped me find it, but it's basically the same on the iphone app. if you go to HU_MGU and then search for vecicle_colour you should find it. Then you get a drop down list of different colors you can use. Then select one and push the code button.
