I'll vote against their poor designs with my future purchasing decisions. After buying three $100K+ BMW's in the last few years, I'll be moving on until they create a body I'm not embarrassed to walk up to in a parking lot. It's sad, because I think the value proposition is otherwise good, with great performance, options and decent quality.

BMW design has always been ahead of its time. People complain initially because the design is unfamiliar. But years down the road, the design becomes mainstream because everyone starts copying BMW. That's why the e60 still looks great today, more so than when it first came out.

And a mesh grill. Remember if you don't like it, no one is forcing to buy. There are many other brands out there. But only one BMW M Competition G82 with a big ass badass grill.

Nice try at turning this into "changing to stay ahead of the competition". How about addressing his lack of creating a beautiful and different design rather than what we have which is different and ugly design?

Totally agree, therefore I will not be in the market. Maybe an M2 or the current F82, if I stay

China is a huge market and growing bigger.....they love the BIG grills!!!
One of the most common complaints I heard in China for pre lci 7 series is that a lot of people thought the front face, not necessarily the grills, was too flat and low like an enlarged 3 series and it didn't have the look of a flagship sedan. I own a 740 in Beijing since 2017 and there was about 16% incentive at that time comparing with 0% for S class LCI. BMW even released 730 with B48N20 to dominate more market share but it still failed to compete with S class. For the recent 7 series LCI, the radical grills is also controversial in China according to the comments I heard and it is still outsold by S class. However, X7, with similar grill size, sells extremely well and there is even an extra 10,000 USD equivalent market adjusted pricing from most dealers in my city.

I would partially agree with the statements like "Chinese prefer large grill", but we still pay attention to factors other than the grills. Nevertheless, I think Chinese market response to the new 4 series, M3 and M4 (at least in terms of the appearances) should be identical to other markets because these models usually target hardcore customers, and these customers should have similar general exterior preferences regardless of their residencies and cannot be discussed with potential customers for X7, X5, or 5 series EWB from China

Well, as a Chinese, me and most my frineds thought that grill is pretty hideous so...

On the other hand, the LCI 7 LWB sells well here, afraid of the future...

Those are all subjective statements. We all find different things beautiful or ugly......tasty or nasty.....etc. There are no definitive answers when it comes to subjective things.

exactly ... a functional sleek design because folks interested in coupes are not interested in Ram truck sized grill in the nose

I give Tesla credit for the design even if it is a bit boring they have one of the lowest cd

Beauty or lack thereof is always subjective. If I would have said the Pontiac Aztec is ugly you could also say that is subjective. Pretty sure most people subjectively believe it is still ugly.

How many people as a percent on these forums thought the F80 was gross when it was first revealed? I don't mean whether they liked it less than the E90/E92. I mean seriously found it gross. Sure people could argue V8 vs I6 TT, bigger vs somewhat smaller, etc, but ultimately the previous gens and the new F80 are all beautiful cars. This thing is not just different, it is not appealing. My opinion but looks like I am not in a minority. But I also remain hopeful that the real deal will be tweaked enough to give the car a more cohesive design.

I don't believe Adrian van Hooydonk is a real name. It must be an alias. I think he plans on going into hiding and doesn't want anybody to find him.

It's garbage. He should be embarrassed and I look forward to him being "asked to move on" when this design tanks the line.

He wants to do this for all cars??

He should look at Infiniti in the US, sales dropping 40%++ yoy.

That'll be BMW buddy if you don't listen to your core customer (the soccer mom's won't care anyhow in their oversize X7).

That never happened with the Bangle stuff and I am pretty darn sure it won't be happening here.

E65 was the best selling 7 Series of all time.
that end of the market will buy any ugly looking junk as long as it is expensive and is a brand name.
A cars design if good shouldn't have to be defended.

I highly doubt this will sell as well as the f32. This is straight up ugly. This isn't like "ohh well we'll get used to it in time." No this is f***ing ugly
