Morning talk radio

I used to be a die hard Stern fan but I would imagine talk radio is kind of a dead thing for most of you.

I'm hooked on Dave and Chuck the freak now. 98.7 in the Tampa area but also syndicated all over. Then I have an Alexa Echo I pop them on until 11am when the show ends.

I'm in Tampa and I like the Mike Calta Show on 102.5 The Bone.

MJ also has his morning show back on Q105.

Radio is soooooo 20th century. In all seriousness, none of the radio presets are programmed in any one of my three vehicles.....

I used to listen to Don Imus way back in the day on WFAN until he got canned in 2007. From then on I’ve been listening to Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton (Boomer/Gio now). Afternoons since the 90’s until they broke up, it was always Mike and the Mad Dog.

I listen to the Free Beer & Hot Wings Show. They've played on 102.9 the Buzz in Nashville for almost 20 years, so I started listening to them in HS.
Now I just listen online or off their app. They're just stupid idiots that keep the morning going:

I used to listen to Stern, but he's become what he preached against for so many years. Typical hypocrite. I listen to mostly finance and sports talk shows now on my commute in the morning. On my drive home I crank up the classic rock channels on SAT radio.

I've been listening to NPR. They did a story, earlier this week, about the discovery of the AIDS virus - late 1970's into the early 1980's. Very good interviewees, very thought provoking and I'm not gay, though there's nothing wrong with that.
Seems like when I drive to work very early they use some BBC produced programing very global.

Sometime back in the 1980's (high school) I started listening to Mark and Brian. I did up until the last day they were together.

Now, I listen to a lot more music on the way to work. . .

I'd never really read or heard anyone succinctly describe the way Stern has changed his persona to become this genteel media mogul who associates with 'Stars' and the 'elite'.
Listened to Gottfried, Lange and Jacki talks about the change but not a media journalist write about a hypocrite, about face or the effort to reinvent himself.

I honestly don't even know if the radio function works in my i3, because I've never tried it!

The Mighty Dodge came with a lifetime Sirius subscription. I used it maybe three times over more than a decade, on road trips where the cellular network dropped out.

Not really, since I was an early adopter of streaming music. When I was young, my car radios all had the presets programmed...and a paper notebook listing all of the good radio stations along every road trip route.....

All the cars I've owned in my adult life have had only one preset configured and that's the local NPR station. I find it comforting. Also no ads unlike other stations.

No talk radio. Talk radio means you would rather listen to someone else's thoughts and ideas instead of creating your own. I listen to comedy radio for the minimal time I'm in the vehicle. Any other time it's my play list from my phone. The only time I listen to the "radio" is a local indy station that plays a great mix of live-form-the-studio that they did live locally or a very eclectic mix. I grew up listening to all formats mixed on the radio and don't really enjoy any single genre pumped into the car - and especially don't like someone, and their friends, telling me what they think.

If being an old fart means no longer being entertained by fake fart noises and a bunch of guys on "the morning zoo", then count me in. I've not listened to terrestrial radio for probably 10 years, with the exception of the odd occasion where I want to follow a local game on AM and I'm stuck in the car. There's just nothing on it or me.
