Well if you take the time to learn to use their lease calculator you can make sure you not getting padded by the dealer. I saved over 900 bucks in drive off $.

Leasehackr is an incredible resource. Obviously if you're shopping for some rare car or something that doesn't typically lease well, you won't have as many data points for it. When I was shopping for both of my cars, the combination of bimmerpost and leasehackr helped me understand back then that 10% off pre-incentive was an achievable goal. Prior to that I would have never thought something like that was a possibility, and I would have gone about negotiating in a traditional method (going to the dealership and just having a back and forth with the dealer, and probably accepted a 5% off).

Yes deals are regional and vary by model, but you're able to get a general idea of what's possible (or not possible) even if you search by brand and not limit it to region. That at least gives you a starting point. Then you contact multiple dealers in your region and based on their responses you then have a general idea of what your market looks like.
