i do miss my 458 a little bit. I think the GT3 sounds better at full chat from 7000 to 9000 rpms. But the rest of the time the in the lower rpms where the car primarily lives the V8 sounded better. Been thinking about dumping the F80 for something that sounds better around town. The lexus V8s sound good and you can trust them (although they are slow). AMG GT is a bit overkill for a companion to a GT3.

Maybe the F355 but few people have the stomach to own that car. The AMG's are not my cup of tea but some people consider those motors special, and fair enough if you do.

At a higher price point there's the 458 Italia and 430 Scud.
I have F80 M3 and 991.2 911 T as the fun cars currently.

The GT350 has a nice engine and sound plus styling is cool. Rest of the car is very underwhelming. I had a chance to buy a few and every time i go and sit in one - I can’t pull the trigger lol. Panel gaps, interior quality, sitting position are just all bad.

The E92 M3 would be good but only if i can find the exact spec for me - Blue or White exterior, Comp Pack, Manual, CF roof, Black interior, low mileage. I think overtime this would be a car you can own and probably not lose any value if you have it as a weekend type car.

Ferrari - I always loved 360 styling (my dream car ever since it came out) and you can find early ones for under $100k easily. Need to look at 430s. The 458s are still at $200k or more for nice spec. I can’t imagine the 360s with nice spec going much further down in price. I have driven 430 and 458 previously but not a 360. They sound like heaven and probably would be the perfect car to get just for the “sound.”

I’m in no rush to get anything but really wish these car companies emulate Porsche GT3 and focused some models on emotional connection of NA sound and feel rather than 0-60 / 1/4 mile times where you are over 100mph in 3rd gear.

I LOVE my F80 - every time I think I’m ready to get rid of it, i take a ride and then look at it and just can’t do it lol.
The sound of it is the biggest issue to me - everything else is almost perfect. I’m going to try the midpipe solution and see if that helps.

The LC500 sounds amazing stock and the 10speed trans is MUCH better than the 8speed in the RCF and GSF. It is very underrated and probably the best GT car for the $$$. I have driven and pushed one extensively- highly recommend it. You will love the sound but rest of the car is a huge compromise with little to no room and obviously its not a track type car. F80 is much more useable and has higher performance.

Not really. They were $20-30k cheaper this time last year. It's basically impossible to find good ones sub $100k whereas good ones were in the $80s before.

I had previously owned three Audi B7 RS4s and just picked up a fourth as a DD to keep some miles off the M4 GTS.

The BNS has to be in the conversation as one of the greatest V-8s (and engines) of all time. Very rare and special with a manual V-8, especially if you live somewhere that sees a lot of snow. They got very cheap a couple years ago but are starting to rise in value again.

The design is subtle but at the same time aggressive with the bulging fenders, and the interior design/materials held up very well, especially when you consider that some RS4s turn 15 this year.

Nice list of cars you already got. I've luckily already have an E92 M3 and it would be the last car I leave. I could never get rid of it. Personally, I'd highly recommend the 6MT, but even if you get DCT, they're not made anymore. There's nothing quite like it, and IMHO, it was BMW's engine department at its peak.

Can you imagine BMW M pretty much making a bespoke engine for the M5/6, and then chopping off 2 cylinders for the M3/4? It's unheard of in this day and age.

I'm considering trading my IS as well. Not exactly sure which direction I will go in. My credit score has improved over the last year and I kinda want to refi, but I may just hold off and buy a new car. Thinking hard on the IS500, but at this point in life, I have no use for a back seat whatsoever so I'm actually leaning toward an RC-F. I'm also trying to locate an AMG C63. Been eyeing Merc's quite heavily as well and I haven't had a Benz in the garage yet.

Recently I took a Shelby GT350 for a spin...it was nice. The materials have room for improvement though...

I'm keeping my '08 E92 M3 with Harrop SC, and thinking about getting a C8 Z06.

Also on the list, but the engines on these like to blow up. SS 1LE is faster, and more reliable. Oh, and less expensive. Easy choice for me.

Chevy tends to put the wheels and rubber that can put down the power from the get-go. Ford needs like 5 or 6 versions to eventually warm up to the same level. A PP2 or Mach 1 is a great car, but Chevy was there with the 1LE years ago. I love my raw manual V8 monster.

That's the same conclusion I reached, and I owned a Mustang before. That's why I'll be placing a dealer order on a 2021 SS 1LE this May. M2 is a great car, but I miss the V8.

I have high hopes for the Caddy Blackwings, although not sure it suits my self perception. The big one has a supercharged V8 much like the Road Warrior's Falcon Interceptor.

I agree about E92 M3 - i think these cars with proper spec and lower mileage will really be sough after in next 10yrs. There are so many that were already ruined either to age, modded, tracked etc.

I’m surprised the M6 coupes with the V10 are not anyone’s radar.
The styling is controversial but its a NA V10 in a BMW coupe!

If only they weren’t so bad looking and can’t see out of the damn thing lol

Looking forward to C8 Z06 but it will still have crappy GM build quality.

Oh they were definitely on my radar, but the extra maintenance/less reliable V10 compared to the V8 was just one stop too far for me.

I kind of prefer the E60 to the E63 just because I think there's something super cool about a V10 sedan, but I still really like the 6er too. I think that rear end was so neat. I personally would have not minded an M6 convertible with a 6MT. That would be a joy to rev out!
