Late last year I ordered a custom glass wind deflector for my 2021 Z4 G29 from manufacture UR-Windschott in Germany. Took forever to arrive but installed and looks great. Significant improvement in rear visibility and also some improvement in top down wind noise. Very long story but short version is I now have a extra never used still in the box glass wind deflector. If anyone is in the market I am offering to sell the extra deflector. I’ll sell below cost due to the screw up in ordering and this will also help save a typical 60-90 day order delivery time from Germany. New cost with shipping from Germany was $408. Will sell to for $300 USD “plus” actual shipping insured to your location costs. I live in Jacksonville Fl area so if you are in the area we can avoid shipping costs. Installing is a simple process - just slide the mesh wind deflector out and insert the glass version. No tools required. Custom built for perfect fit. I added this to my G29 last summer and it was a great improvement in visibility! Well worth the $400!

I’m planning to wait until I can try the factory one before pulling the pin on a glass one. I was concerned that the solid glass would cause more wind buffeting than the mesh version.

Good point. Wind buffeting is not a concern for me, but rear visibility is. Anyway, would love to hear your report.

By the way, mine made it to the port today and will be on the 26 MAY vessel. Mid-June delivery is almost certain.

Just a comment. I've noticed no visibility problems with the mesh.

However, I find wind buffeting if all windows are down to be much worse than my old TT. If there is an alternative that really reduced wind, I'd be on it.

I'm jealous for both of you and TAZ007! I'm lookin at a mid July as the 8 week mark. But... so far my build seems to be going faster than most other's who have reported their timelines. Can't wait to get behind the wheel.

It’ll be here before you know it, but I get it, I’ve got one month to go and that feels like a loooooong time.... I find tracking the progress online makes the wait more enjoyable and using MarineTraffic so follow the ship is pretty cool too.

That marine traffic website is awesome. It is better the BMW tracker. To get real time position, heading, and velocity readouts speaks to my inner geek. Looking at all the traffic on the water is mind blowing.

Yes, being able to track it is so rewarding. I do, unfortunately, check the tracking a few times a day just to look. I've been dreaming of this moment for a long time. Tried to get a Z4 back in 2003 so... despite the fact that I'm not getting the V6, i'm getting my dream car.

We are a lucky bunch to be able to enjoy such a car. Certainly count myself to be very fortunate.
