Verizon is paying good money for old/damaged phones

There's a promo going on now where they will give you money off (equal monthly payments back to you, money off your bill) for old and damaged phones.

There's an option to upgrade a line or add a new line. The add a new line is where the big savings is.

I added a new line and traded in an iphone 6s. They'll give me $400 for that phone.
So I bought a S21 on that discount.

At first I was going to trade my pixel 4a5g in. They will pay $800 for that, new line. I only paid a little over $200 for it (black friday trade in deal).

I kinda think the materials shortage is working in the favor of the consumer here. Not sure why else the used and damaged phone market would be so strong.

LOL, the trade in/discount thing isn't anything new, but it doesn't help anyone(me) who tend to keep their phones for a long time - my OG Pixel XL didn't qualify. Then I had to wait for months for the S21 Ultra 512gb to become available, and ended up checking at just the right time when Samsung had it in stock along with a $400 discount and no new line needed.

Verizon business services are currently more aggressive than they have been in the past. We had a killer 2 year deal with Sprint that expired in December. Tried to work with them to move to T-Mobile and it turned into an exercise in futility.
Verizon rep was great, super easy transaction with costs close to our original Sprint deal. We have 30 lines so maybe unique to our situation IDK. Also forgot how much better Verizon is at least in our area. Call quality is significantly better, virtually no dropped calls and data is very consistent. Things that couldn’t be said for Sprint. Oh and the 12 Pro is a nice upgrade from the XS.

Just picked up a Samsung s21 on verizon's deal. Had a Motorols G Stylus and that didn't support wireless Android Auto--found that out two weeks ago when I picked up the M340i. The S21 does, but battery life is awful...

Really? So far, battery life on my S21 Ultra has been outstanding. Although I do keep screen resolution low(still looks fantastic) and have screen brightness on dynamic, both of which help.
