E; new post post-delivery added later on
Welp, it’s official! After going back and forth for many months, first looking at picking up a new ‘24 Z4 or a decent CPO, then transitioning to placing an order for a ‘25 with the MT (still in 047), and NOW, finally, we decided to adopt one in need of a good home, making a deal on a ‘New-to-Me’ CPO, woot-woot!!! Settled on a 2023 Z4 M40i, in Portimao Blue with Magma Red, only 4.7k miles, (in-service date of 03/23, CPO through 03/28), and all options with the exception of the Extended Shadowline trim, (DAP, Premium, ACC, HK, Wireless Charging). Has 18” rims, meh, but I can live with them despite decreased options for tires nowadays. This one wasn’t purchased with UC+, (so no transfer on free maint), but dealer did its first 1yr oil change when they took it in, so we’re good for a while. Not quite as great of a deal as another we were interested in, (only ~$9k discount from new on this one), but considering it’s spec better meets our desires, I’m happy with it. Figuring out best way to get the 200 miles to pick it up next Tues, (thinking about trying out that “Luxury” motorcoach gig aka Vonlane, cheaper than a one-way rental or the quick flight and no TSA lines, /shrug. Can hardly wait! (Oh, happy surprise, insurance is actually slightly cheaper than our ‘21 Acura RDX, go figure). Thanks to all for good info, whether responding to my posts, or just info I learned from browsing. Looking forward to continuing to learn, but now being in a position to give first-hand accounts too, haha. Obligatory Dealer pic until it’s in my hands and I get to make my own post in the Day One thread… |

It's Superman! Don't forget the sunscreen on that drive home. Enjoy.

Looks great! Congrats.
I’m guessing that the 200 miles to get it will turn into 500 miles to get home… 😜 Enjoy! |

Congratulations! I debated real hard if I wanted the magma interior with my Pb, but ultimately settled on the cognac. If I had an opportunity to see it in person … I would have had a better idea. Seats look red in pictures.

GerryC was right, but I completely forgot sunscreen, woke up with my head looking like a lobster. Oops, time for some aloe, haha.
Just adding on in lieu of a new thread…. Kudos to BMW of Grapevine (Sewell). Our baby slept safe & sound in our garage overnight, even with me literally peaking inside a couple of times, lol. We opted to utilize Vonlane, a ‘Business/Luxury’ Motor Coach service that operates between DFW, Austin, Houston and San Antonio. After experiencing them for the first time, we give two thumbs up for anyone who has them operating within their state. Cheaper than flying, all first class seats, food/drink provided, and ~80% well behaved business travelers. Also only 22 passengers. Taking pre/post flight time into account it took just as long versus flying up there. (Bonus, nicer bathroom than an airplane, and no needles like a greyhound, hah). Uber’d to the dealer, and got to window shop the two-story setup while our CA Carl Miller arranged to get our Z4 dug out and prepped. (Was moved inside along with others due to hail the prior night). After setting up our accounts, we went back downstairs and got to “Press a magic button” resulting in slider doors opening to reveal our car. Corny, but cool for the kid-inside feeling. Spent enough time setting up the basics for us, then away we went. Drove top-up for the first ~2hrs as the cold front hadn’t moved out yet and with the winds it was insane, but stopped at a rest area ~60 mins outside of town once it warmed up to low 60s to go topless the rest of the way. Holy crap, what an experience. (Amazing how ‘open’ things became, zero blind spots obviously). The near instant pull it puts to the ground was a glorious change from our SUV, I can already tell I’ll need to watch myself as I get used to something with this much under the hood and being as nimble as it is. Even got challenged by a fool to race, (sorry buddy, too old for those unsafe games on public roads, especially a crowded interstate). The kicker…it was an M3, WTH. Every brand has their individual hotdogs making a bad name for others I suppose. Oh well, we just kept cruising along enjoying and soaking it all in. I’m 100% certain we made the right choice and spent the time to not settle, waiting for what we truly ‘had to have’ versus ‘wanted to have’. All set for the weekend for its first bath, (all new setup waiting, included Active 2.0 with plenty of Meguiar’s and Adam’s products to test out). Now to find an excuse to take it out on my lunch break today, hmmmm. |

By the way, with 4700 miles already driven you don't have to worry about the initial 1200 mile break-in period!

HUUUUUUGE congratulations to you! You're going to enjoy it so much!
Yes... I can't ride top down without a hat and sunglasses. Sunscreen on your face and arms is probably a good idea too. This is what I got: https://www.amazon.com/Motorsport-20...s%2C120&sr=8-2

MadBullogna, you may wish to consider switching your badges to the gloss black ones that several of us have. They would look awesome on your PB color!

I can attest that yes, the black gloss badging does look outstanding on PB.
https://ind-distribution.com/product...em-gloss-black https://ind-distribution.com/product...914fba6c&_ss=r I should have pictures in my garage to share with the updated badging. If not i will in the next day or two. lol

MadBullogna, I also recommend that you lose the dealer's license plate frame (I hate advertising for dealers) and get an all black frame if you switch to the gloss black badges. |

Definitely on the list. Still debating, as they currently go with the mirror caps, grill & wheels. (Though if I ever swap out the grill, caps, and upgrade to different wheels it’s a 100% certainty the badges will be done too). Short list for the moment is floating wheel roundels, upgraded under door LEDs, and possibly the start/stop & volume button swapouts.

See how the 18's are as you may be satisfied with them and save some money. Meantime you may wish to remove Sewell's license plate frame and try to find an inexpensive cerium gray frame. |

All set there, just waiting for the registration to get processed to put on our plates & frame. (Made it very clear to our CA to have the emblem they applied removed too, which they did of course).
