Dynamic Driving mode: what option?
I've been pouring through reviews, the online BMW Z4 builder and staring at dealer photos of both the 30i and M40i.
I can't figure out what option on the Z4 you need to hit to get the Dynamic driving mode...I've seen it on M Sport and not on M Sport. I've seen it not on M40i's where you'd figure it would be standard. Not a deal killer, more a curiosity since it's not readily spelled out how/when or why this is a feature on the car. Who knows out there! |

Below is a screenshot of my VIN report of a M40i (currently on its way to me). As you can see the adaptive suspension is included without being selected specifically as an option or package. Hence, I would assume - at least fore the M40i - it is part of standard equipment. You have to click on the pic to see it posted at the bottom.

I think the OP isn’t wondering about the adaptive suspension, but about the adaptive driving mode. The adaptive driving mode automatically switches between comfort & sport (and maybe eco?), depending on driving style. It’s enabled with that Adaptive button right below Eco Pro.

I’m not sure on this one. In theory the adaptive driving mode is using GPS information and driving input to determine the best current mode. So I’m not sure it would necessarily need the adaptive suspension for it to work.
On cars fitted the adaptive suspension is running constantly, it doesn’t need a special mode to activate. |
