I thought that maybe our vehicles would be on the same boat but then it occurred to me that yours goes through the canal.

Is there any chance that they load up for both coasts, drop off at Baltimore then go through the canal to the left coast?

I don't think the ship carrying my 435i stopped anywhere (to drop off cars) before it got to Long Beach, but who knows in our current environment. I'm just hoping that the container ship slow-down isn't effecting the car haulers. But it sounds like the container ship issue is that they don't have any place to put the containers because the trucks can't unload the empty containers because of zoning laws in the LA area. So they can't pick up full containers. Seems like they could change the rules for a short time just to get things flowing again, but then again its the government and they don't seem to be able to do anything very fast.

Unloading at the Ports of Long Beach and LA are currently a nightmare. I saw this article 2 days ago.

The cargo port and the car port are in different locations. All of the stories I have seen only talk about delays with container ships which makes me think the car hauling ship are not having the same issues. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in any case.

Not sure about west coast but I watched all the boats and with the exception of maybe a day or 2 they were all arriving and departing on time. The Asian Majesty is about a day behind and is at the port in Nova Scotia now. I think the next stop is New Jersey where mine will be unloaded. Almost time to get excited.

I can contain myself a while longer it is now due to arrive in NYC port on the 25th. But the thought in the back of my mind is wondering if it might get here and need a part installed still. Since I ordered fully loaded kind of nervous about missing micro chips etc. so once I hear it’s on a truck up my way then the excitement will skyrocket for sure.

My impression is that they don’t leave the factory until all the complex parts requiring a microchip are installed. I’m pretty sure that if it leaves the factory you’re in pretty good shape.

Good luck.

Just in time for the snow in Colorado.

I'm just glad they found my car!
But you are just in time for the ZFest in Aspen next June! And maybe even drive in my road rally.

Your road rally now I’m even more interested in the ZFest. A road rally sounds like an amazing experience.

I haven't written a road rally for over 40 years, but I used to do great ones so this one should be reasonable.

The interesting thing is that road rallies seem to be a lot less popular than in the 70s. At my university, we would probably have a dozen alone during the school year. Heck, I remember once pulling into a check point only to find it was a checkpoint for a different rally. But now, there seems to have been only one rally in all of the Denver area this year, and that one was put on to promote political candidates. They seem as scarce as hens teeth.

The ZFest in Greenville, SC this year was great. I'm also planning to attend the 2022 ZFest in Snowmass, CO.

Do you plan to post your convoy information on the ZSCCA ZFest web site?

My car was just dispatched from factory. The Genius people tell me I won't get a vessel name until after it arrives at the port.

FYI.

My M4C was on the dock in Quality Check for a week. Was put on a ship last night.

Issue was missing RAM. Trying to find out now if it was shipped with or without a radio.

Been tracking mine pretty close - retired with to much time on my hands.

My production began on August 18 and yours started over a month after mine. Yours is now way ahead of mine. Still no idea why mine had such a long delay in Quality Check.

If yours is expected in late November, then I guess I won't see mine until late December or early January (going through the Panama Canal takes a while).

I waited on the RAM as well. It will have a radio, the RAM is in the trunk area and the computer. If they told you they installed the RAM; then your golden. I had to wait another month for them to put one in.

Different models and assembly plant. His is the M4 Competition and yours is the Z4 sharing production with the Supra.

I believe they are both leaving out of the same port aren't they?
