No Touchscreen on Future Z4s

Looked good at the dealer but looks amazing in your driveway. Congratulations! How will you choose between this and your Z4? Two great rides. Wow.

I believe he traded the M135 for it and kept the Z4. It was in an earlier post.

That M4C profile does look sharp.

Here is another question about the no touch screen.
Being that the car new car missing the tough screen are under waranty. What would happen if said screen (no touch screen) stops working.

Wouldn't bmw now replace it with the touch screen version or would they keep it a lemon with no touch screen and now purposely have to stack up on no touch screen screens?

I think BMW knows which cars are being built without touch screens and would deny your warranty claim.

Let's just say I have one of these bmw with no touch screen.
4 years waranty.
It is now 2025. My screen stops working for some reason it is fried.
No accidents nothing just don't turns on.
Bmw says display is dead and needs to replace it.

At this point bmw sends a display that have touch screen or does bmw will have to now purposely keep non touch screen displays just to keep it as is?

In that case it would get a touch screen, but it depends on the software installed in the car to use it. They wouldn't do the software under warranty.

In that case, I doubt that BMW would upgrade it on their dime, but you may be able to get them to upgrade it on your dime. You may also have an argument to only be charged the amount that they reduced the cost of the car when the touch screen was deleted.

If all they had at that point was touch screens, they'd be forced to upgrade it for free.......but this is all conjecture at this time...

Touchscreens are back. I just ordered a 2022 silver/magma/shadowline to replace. my 2020 I traded in.

I had told my salesperson in August that I wouldn't accept the order if it came in without a touchscreen. So he's been watching and recently told me (and showed me on the order) that it's back. So I ordered it. When I track it on MyBMW, it shows it's there as well. I bet you'll have it on yours. Put in your production # and see what it says.

I don't have anything I can check yet, but will definitely follow when I get a build/production #. I'll be able to back out of the deal or put the down payment on a 2023, if I choose. If the 22 doesn't have the touchscreen, and the dealer can confirm the 23 will (along with the LCI), I may punt to a 23. However, I will take the 23 if it arrived without a screen, cause ultimately, the Z4M40i is not about the touchscreen for me. Cheers.
