Would you order front ventilated seats if available?

If front ventilated seats were an option on the Z4 would you order them?

Yes, I also would have liked soft close doors and an option to order Nappa or Merino leather.

My understanding is BMW's ventilated seats gently pull air away from you, through the seat. They are not the same as cooled seats that blow air at you. Nonetheless I'd for sure pay for the option.

If they had seats like this I might consider changing my Rule #1 for a convertible.
Never order a black interior!

I wouldn't. Perforated leather does not hold up over the long run and tears easily form.

Maybe, but I sure like my z4 being 500 lbs lighter than my F type and I have to think that all that stuff must weigh something....

I don't think I would. I have ventilated seats in my Acura and it's ok but I couldn't imagine needing them in a convertible. But then again my seats will be white so not as hot. Still, I could live without it on a convertible.

It's an interesting question though. What options are the least needed. I've always felt that dual climate zone in a convertible and where you are 6 inches apart is kind of silly. And I never use my power seats...get my seat where I want it and that's it. I'm done growing and my wife doesn't drive my car so the motors are just extra weight.

Well, you must take meticulous care of them. Every used car I find with perforated seats has a tear or it has started.

I'll agree with this. My back can get pretty sweaty in 95 degree weather.

Yes, but BMW Ventilated seats are shit. BMW needs to visit one of the Americans or Japanese to learn how to properly create ventilated seats. Cadillac and Lexus have figured that out!

Every BMW that I paid for the ventilated seat option has always disappointed me (F10, F85, G05 ...) I would likely not buy them again until they get it right

The new M4 convertible has ventilated seats and neck warmers, something the Z4 should also have but doesn't.

And the new Z4 has reasonable grills, something the M4 should also have but doesn't.

tbf... these kidney grills are getting larger and larger and larger. I'm already saying meh to cars like the 4 series.

Thing is, you can feel the seat & neck units when inside & you can't see the grill.

Agree, if my old FORD had cooled seats (Peltier units in seat) no reason all BMW's don't.

Heated & cooled leather in my Expedition lasted from 2009 to 2020 when sold with a pair of 100lbs Old English Sheep Dogs as frequent riders. No holes other than the ones for temperature control. Not a car slave into detailing etc.

No opinion on leather, other then better than sensatec, or soft close doors. Z4 has Vernasca M4 Merino. Don't know what the difference is. Both are Black inside.

Have always had black in open cars going back to first new car 1962. First car was used with red/white interior. Hard roofed cars various color interiors.

Park in the shade with roof down or throw a white towel over my seat.
