I wonder if the modifications included overriding the 155 mph limit? I've heard some people say that just because they say it's limited to 155 doesn't mean that it is limited to 155. In that video, he blew past 155 and went all the way up to 180!

Looks fast for sure, but sounds terrible. Is that the Remus exhaust or intake? Just sounds like turbo wooshhh to me and lost all of the nice deep straight 6 growl and character. No nice noises on the overrun or upshifts. The standard M40i I test drove, whilst being quite quiet, it certainly had a much nicer tone than this car. Shame, always thought Remus exhausts were decent too

Thought it sounded pretty good. Hell, I was even thinking it sounded alot like my 30i. I do hear the turbo whoosh quite a bit when I'm driving as well. Though I do wish it was a little louder.

No - Have done the performance driving school in SC on a BMWFS comp deal but have not released the limiter on any of the cars but 1

Did code the limiter out on an older 2011 BMW with a JB4 but that was a DIY.

Never got over the factory limit with the car so have no idea if it worked.

oh well, hard to do on city streets anyway.

I'm planning on the 2-day M school over fourth of july weekend. Hope it is a blast like the M track day I attended.

Think CA sucks all round. That said with a choice the Thermal location is better than the one in Greer. Its a full race track where Greer is more a test track.

I have used Greer a number of times living in NC. You will have a good time no matter which you choose.

Thermals advantage depending on how much they let you do is it has more room for higher speeds. Greer will limit a lot of the cars to 110/115MPH before required braking.

Thermal is wide open unless they do a cone placement thing to change the course.

Thanks for the heads up. I really enjoyed the M Track day on the Circuit of Americas in San Antonio. Got the M3C up to 155! As much as I hate CA, I will now have to think hard. I can go 115 on the freeways here.

Not sure of the sound being better, but I love the look of the quad exhaust pipes. I would probably be driving an M40i if BMW sold it with the quads. Hopefully they'll change over to the quad pipes from the 4 series M car on a future edition. Maybe a true M version one day.
